Residents of Bhaderwah and its adjoining areas have been facing major power cuts, especially during Sehri and Iftaar timings, despite assurances from authorities of providing all facilities during the holy month of Ramadan. Prominent social activist, Adv Mohd Majid Malik, has alleged that the situation is causing problems for the residents and that the claims of authorities on the ground are proving to be a hoax.
Majid Malik has demanded that the concerned department immediately change the winter-framed power cut schedule and construct a grid station in Bhaderwah, which has already been approved by the UT government. He has also demanded a transmission line from Pul Doda to Bhaderwah to mitigate the power crisis in the area.
According to Malik, the Power Development Department (PDD) has failed to address the power crisis in Bhaderwah, and people are facing hardships with each passing day. He has called on higher-ups to pay immediate attention to the matter and put an end to the unscheduled power cuts. Malik has also criticized the political leaders of Bhaderwah for being silent spectators to the suffering of the people.
The residents of Bhaderwah and adjoining areas have expressed their frustration and disappointment over the unscheduled power cuts during the holy month of Ramadan. Many residents have stated that the power cuts have made it difficult for them to observe their religious duties during the month. The lack of electricity has also affected local businesses and daily life in the area.
