Government Constitutes Technical Appraisal Committee for Vehicle Location Tracking and Emergency Alert System Project Proposal

The Jammu and Kashmir government has constituted a Technical Appraisal Committee (TAC) for the “Project Proposal for Vehicle Location Tracking and Emergency Alert System.” The order was issued by Sanjeev Verma, Commissioner/Secretary, General Administration Department on Wednesday.

According to the order, the committee will be chaired by Mohammad Saleem, State Informatics Officer, NIC, J&K, with Shameem Khan, Director Incharge, NIELIT or his representative, and a representative of IIT Jammu as its members. Puneet Kanth, Senior Consultant, State e-Mission Team (SeMT), will serve as the committee’s Member Secretary.

The committee’s main responsibility is to provide technical vetting of the Detailed Project Report (DPR) and make recommendations on the provisions proposed in the DPR. It will also provide its recommendation and suggestions on the viability of the proposed solutions in the DPR. Additionally, the committee will ensure strict compliance with all rules, procedures, and guidelines issued by the government while vetting the DPR.

The Member-Secretary will coordinate with all committee members to ensure timely convening of meetings and timely appraisal/vetting of documents. The government hopes that the implementation of the Vehicle Location Tracking and Emergency Alert System will enhance road safety and help in emergency situations.
