In a heart-wrenching incident, a one-year-old girl lost her life on Wednesday after accidentally falling into a stream at Sunigam, a village in the picturesque region of Kulgam. The young victim, identified as Zainab Zahid, daughter of Zahid Ahmad Naiko, was playing near the water’s edge when the unfortunate mishap occurred.
According to an official statement reached The Chenab Times from the local authorities via reports, the incident took place in the girl’s native village, leaving the entire community in shock and grief. Witnesses reported that Zainab slipped into the stream, unable to regain her footing before being carried away by the water’s current.
Promptly alerted to the distressing situation, concerned residents and family members rushed to the scene in a desperate attempt to rescue the little girl. They tirelessly searched for her along the stream, hoping to find her alive. However, their efforts were in vain, as Zainab’s lifeless body was eventually recovered from the water.
The child was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where medical professionals worked tirelessly to revive her. Despite their valiant attempts, the doctors were left with no choice but to pronounce her deceased. (reports)
