SIU Raids Multiple Locations in Kishtwar in Terror Funding Case

In a significant development in the fight against terrorism, the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Kishtwar Police conducted a series of raids at several locations within the Kishtwar District. Acting on house search warrants obtained from the NIA court in Jammu, the operation was carried out as part of the ongoing investigation into a case registered under the UAPA Act.

The case, FIR No 272/2022, focuses on individuals involved in terror-related activities and terror funding. The suspects, namely Shahnawaz alias Nayeem, Nayeem Ahmed alias Amir/Gazi, Mohd Iqbal alias Bilal, Shahnawaz Kanth alias Munna/Umer, and Javid Hussain Giri alias Muzamil, are believed to be operating from Pakistan-administered Kashmir (PAK/POK).

The search operation, led by SSP Kishtwar Khalil Poswal-JKPS, targeted the residences of the aforementioned individuals. The purpose was to collect evidence to be used in further investigations, aiming to establish their involvement in anti-national activities and perpetuation of terrorism.

While divulging the details of the operation, SSP Kishtwar highlighted that anyone found to be associated with the terrorists during the course of the investigation would also face prosecution. This includes individuals who have been identified as supporters or associates of the suspects. The authorities are determined to bring to justice all those involved in aiding and abetting acts of terrorism.
