Better Hope NGO, in collaboration with the Feeding Humanity Welfare Organisation and Sadaqah Jariyah, recently organized a remarkable “wheelchair and hearing aid distribution camp” at Al Huda College of Education in Pattan. The camp, aimed at providing essential mobility aids to people with disabilities in the region, was met with resounding success and appreciation from the beneficiaries.
The event was inaugurated by SDM Pattan, Mr. Faheem, and Mr. Saqib Murtaza, the Tehsildar of Pattan, who recognized the significance of this initiative and commended the organizers for their commitment to improving the lives of individuals with disabilities. Approximately 60 people with disabilities were provided with wheelchairs, hearing impairment devices, crutches, and other necessary equipment, based on recommendations from the attending doctors.
One of the key contributors to the camp’s success was the team of dedicated doctors provided by Mr. Javed Tak, a disability activist from Kashmir. These doctors not only offered their expertise to ensure proper fitting and usage of the mobility aids but also provided consultation services to address any additional healthcare needs the recipients may have had.
Expressing gratitude for the efforts of Better Hope NGO and Feeding Humanity Welfare Organisation, Mr. Saqib Murtaza, Tehsildar of Pattan, remarked, “We are grateful to Better Hope NGO and Feeding Humanity Welfare Organisation. This is a great initiative that will help people with disabilities in the region improve their quality of life.”
The beneficiaries of the camp expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the assistance they received. Many shared their stories of how the provided mobility aids would greatly enhance their mobility and independence, allowing them to actively participate in society.
Mr. Aqib Majeed Dar, the founder and general secretary of Better Hope NGO, expressed his gratitude to the dedicated volunteers and generous donors who supported this noble cause. This successful camp marked the NGO’s second endeavor of its kind and has motivated them to continue organizing similar initiatives in the future.
