A deputy superintendent of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Police, along with three other policemen, sustained injuries today when an Amarnath Security Convoy Vehicle was involved in an accident near Bali Nallah in Udhampur along the Jammu-Srinagar national highway.
The mishap occurred when a vehicle belonging to Convoy Commander Ajay Kumar collided near Bali Nallah in Udhampur district. Among the injured individuals is a Deputy Superintendent (DSP) from the IR 24 battalion, whose identity has been withheld at this time.
According to an official source from the J&K Police, the injured individuals have been promptly shifted to the District Hospital in Udhampur to receive necessary medical treatment. The extent of their injuries is yet to be disclosed.
The cause of the accident is currently under investigation, and authorities are working to ascertain the sequence of events leading to the collision.
The Amarnath Yatra is an important religious pilgrimage for Hindus, undertaken to seek blessings from Lord Shiva. The journey, which spans over several weeks, involves trekking through treacherous terrains and challenging weather conditions.
