In a devastating accident that occurred near Panar bridge on Mughal Road, Ranbir Singh Bali, Director of Finance in the Forest, Ecology and Environment Department, along with his wife and son, lost their lives when their private car rolled down a deep gorge. The incident took place at approximately 7:40 pm while the family was traveling from Srinagar to Jammu via Mughal Road in their swift car (registration number JK02BD-4635).
Sources from the official authorities have confirmed that the couple and their minor son were pronounced dead at the scene, while their 17-year-old daughter sustained injuries and was swiftly transported to the SDH Surankote for immediate medical attention. The daughter, identified as Mahreen Kour, is reported to be out of danger, providing a glimmer of hope amidst this devastating tragedy.
The deceased have been identified as Ranbir Singh Bali, a prominent figure in the Forest, Ecology and Environment Department, his wife Parvinder Kour, and their son Irvan Singh. Unfortunately, due to the darkness and treacherous terrain of the deep gorge, the recovery of their bodies remains challenging. Search and rescue operations are currently underway, led by dedicated police officials.
