Recent MBBS Batch from GMC Doda Explores SDH Bhaderwah as Part of Foundational Course

The 2023-24 batch of aspiring MBBS students from the Government Medical College (GMC) Doda embarked on a significant educational journey today, as they visited the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Bhaderwah. This field visit was an integral component of their foundational course, meticulously organized by the Department of Community Medicine at GMC Doda. Under the guidance of the esteemed Principal of GMC Doda, Prof. (Dr.) Puja Vimesh, and the overall supervision of Head of the Department of Community Medicine, Dr. Suresh K. Kotwal, the event was executed seamlessly.

During their visit, the enthusiastic students had the opportunity to explore every facet of SDH Bhaderwah, gaining valuable insights into the inner workings of a Community Health Centre. This immersive experience was made possible with the active support and engagement of the dedicated staff at SDH Bhaderwah. Dr. Walied K. Balwan, the Academic Registrar, and Dr. Nayyar Sajjad, a junior Resident, played pivotal roles in sensitizing the students about the purpose of their visit and providing them with an initial orientation.

The success of this event also owed much to the unwavering commitment of the Department of Community Medicine’s team members, including Shahid Saleem, Shazad Manhas, Shokit Ali, Sehrish Naseem, Charanjit Singh, and Gohar Nazir.

This educational excursion not only broadened the horizons of these young medical aspirants but also underscored the importance of hands-on experience in the field of medicine. The students left SDH Bhaderwah with a deeper understanding of community health practices, setting the stage for their promising careers in the medical field.
