DLSA Organizes “Awareness cum Cleanliness Drive” in Bhaderwah to Promote Environmental Responsibility

In a collaborative effort to raise awareness about environmental responsibility and cleanliness, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Bhaderwah, in partnership with the Municipal Committee, embarked on an “Awareness cum Cleanliness Drive.” The initiative, held at the District Court Complex Bhaderwah, was led by Sunit Gupta, Principal District & Sessions Judge and Chairman of DLSA Bhaderwah.

The event garnered participation from key figures such as Romesh Lal, Secretary of DLSA (Sub Judge), Sanjay Sharma, Executive Officer of the Municipal Committee Bhaderwah, and Advocate Mohd Majid Malik. They were joined by members of the general public, litigants, and Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) associated with DLSA Bhaderwah.

The central focus of the program was to emphasize the importance of environmental awareness, cleanliness, the conservation of natural resources, and discouraging the use of plastics and polythene bags. The event commenced with a cleanliness drive within the District Court Complex Bhaderwah itself.

Secretary of DLSA Bhaderwah, Romesh Lal, and Advocate Mohd Majid Malik addressed the gathering, shedding light on the significance of cleanliness and responsible environmental practices. Advocate Mohd Majid Malik remarked that the intersection of climate change and population growth has given rise to a global water crisis. With the increasing population, the strain on water resources and wastewater management is becoming increasingly compromised. He emphasized that the onus to address this challenge falls on civil society, urging them to actively contribute to water preservation, mitigating the water crisis, and providing a cleaner and safer environment for future generations.
