In a heart-wrenching incident, a newly-purchased tractor met with a fatal accident, resulting in the loss of one life and injuries to another in Kupwara district on Monday evening. The victims, identified as Mohammad Ashraf Malik and his son Uzair Ashraf, were on their way home to Dhani Karnah when the tragedy occurred.
According to official sources, the unfortunate incident took place in the Zarla area of Karnah. The tractor, which was identified as a Chassis model, unexpectedly turned over, leading to the immediate demise of Mohammad Ashraf Malik. His son, Uzair Ashraf, sustained injuries in the accident.
Upon learning of the accident, local residents rushed to the scene to provide assistance. They promptly transported the injured Uzair Ashraf to a nearby healthcare facility. Tragically, upon arrival at the medical facility, Mohammad Ashraf Malik was declared brought dead.
Preliminary investigations reveal that the victims, a father-son duo, had purchased the tractor in Srinagar and were on their way back to Dhani Karnah when the accident occurred.
Confirming the incident, a police official stated that they are actively working to ascertain further details regarding the accident.
