Srinagar: In a recent operation in the Ashipora area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district, security forces successfully neutralized two local militants affiliated with the Lashkar-i-Toiba (LeT) outfit. The Kashmir Zone Police confirmed this development, with Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Kashmir Vijay Kumar providing essential details.
The slain militants have been identified as Morifat Maqbool and Jazim Farooq, who was also known as Abrar. Of notable significance, Abrar was found to be directly linked to the killing of Kashmiri Pandit Sanjay Sharma, according to police.
While quoting Additional Director General of Police Kashmir Vijay Kumar, The Kashmir Zone Police wrote on X Platform, “Killed terrorists have been identified as Morifat Maqbool & Jazim Farooq @ Abrar of militant outfit LeT. Militant Abrar was involved in killing of Kashmiri Pandit late Sanjay Sharma.”
