Kishtwar – In a fitting tribute to the legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, popularly known as the “Iron Man of India,” the Kishtwar Police, under the leadership of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kishtwar, Khalil Poswal-JKPS, organized a “Run for Unity” marathon on the eve of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel‘s 148th Birth Anniversary. This significant event extended its celebration to the police station levels across the Kishtwar district.
The event, which took place on this momentous occasion, brought together individuals from various walks of life, including police and Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) officers and officials. The marathon served as a testament to the shared ideals of unity and integration championed by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
The marathon commenced with the flag-off by SSP Kishtwar, Khalil Poswal-JKPS, in the presence of Parma Shivan, Commanding Officer of CRPF 52 Bn., and Rajinder Singh-JKPS, Additional Superintendent of Police, Kishtwar. The marathon route traversed picturesque locations such as Kuleed, Wasser Zelna, Butt Petrol-pump, and Bearwar, with the return leg following the same path. This symbolized the unity that binds the diverse fabric of our nation. Participants donned the vibrant colors of the Indian flag, vividly displaying their unwavering commitment to the vision of a united India.
The top three runners in the marathon received well-deserved recognition and rewards from SSP Kishtwar.
During his address to the participants, SSP Kishtwar, Khalil Poswal-JKPS, underscored the paramount importance of unity and highlighted the tireless efforts of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in integrating princely states into a united India. He fervently encouraged all present to uphold the core values of unity and diversity, which form the bedrock of our nation.
