Minors Including Six Killed, Four Injured in Road Accident on Thathri-Kathawa Road

Doda, April 13, 2024: A major road accident occurred today on the Thathri-Kathawa road near Khanpura, resulting in six casualties and four injuries. The accident involved a private vehicle (JK06B 3089).

Block Medical Officer (BMO) of Thathri told The Chenab Times that ten people including three minors were involved in the accident. Three people, including a young girl named Ilham (daughter of Mohd Amir, 4 years old) and Riyaz Ahmed (35 years old), were declared brought dead at the scene. A baby girl named Noorain (daughter of Mohd Amir, approximately 10 years old), another baby girl named Safa Noor (daughter of Saddam Hussain, approximately 5 years old), Mohd Amir (28 years old), Driver Sufiyan Sheikh (24 years old), and Saiyma Begum (wife of Mohd Amir) were injured in the accident and have been referred to GMC Doda for further treatment.

The identities of the deceased besides Ilham and Riyaz Ahmed are reported as Mukhtiyar Ahmed (28 years old), Ireena Begum (wife of Saddam Hussain, 28 years old), and Mohd Rafi (teacher, 40 years old).

Sources from GMC Doda told The Chenab Times that Noorain (daughter of Mohd Amir) succumbs to injuries.

The cause of the accident is not yet known. The police are investigating the incident.
