9-Year-Old Boy Drowns in Chenab River Near Cherji Bridge

A tragic incident occurred today in the Dool area of Kishtwar district, where a 9-year-old boy, Abdul Razak, drowned in the Chenab River near Cherji Bridge. Abdul, the son of Zakir Hussain from Kwar, was on his way home from school with his elder brother when the accident happened around 4 p.m.

As the boys reached Cherji Bridge, Abdul’s elder brother successfully crossed the bridge, but Abdul accidentally fell into the river, as per sources of The Chenab Times. The incident prompted immediate action, and a joint rescue operation is currently underway by the Red Cross and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) at the Dool Dam site near the Cherji Bridge.

The family of the young boy is present at the site, anxiously awaiting news as rescue efforts continue. Authorities are working tirelessly to locate Abdul in the hopes of a positive outcome.
