In a decisive action, the District Police Kishtwar have apprehended a miscreant, Sher Mohammad, under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA) for his involvement in a sacrilegious act. The arrest was confirmed by SSP Kishtwar, Abdul Qayoom-JKPS.
Sher Mohammad, son of Habib Hajam from Nagnigarh Keshwan, currently residing in Lower Pochhal, Tehsil and District Kishtwar, was apprehended following multiple complaints lodged against him over time. Acting promptly upon receiving credible information, the police, under the supervision of Dy. SP Hqrs Kishtwar, detained the accused for his heinous activities.
The investigation revealed that Sher Mohammad had a history of similar complaints, prompting the authorities to submit a dossier to the District Magistrate (DM) Kishtwar. Subsequently, he was booked under the PSA. Following the issuance of PSA orders, a special team constituted by the SSP Kishtwar successfully arrested Sher Mohammad, who is now lodged in Kot Bhalwal Jail, District Jammu.
The Chenab Times has learned that SSP Kishtwar, Abdul Qayoom, issued a stern warning to individuals involved in sacrilegious acts and bovine smuggling, emphasizing that such activities will face the full force of the law. He reaffirmed the police’s commitment to maintaining communal harmony and ensuring the safety and security of all residents.
