Popular TikTok influencer Imsha Rehman has deactivated her social media accounts after a private video, allegedly leaked, went viral online. The young content creator, who has a significant following for her lively posts, became the target of intense backlash, with some accusing her of deliberately leaking the video for attention. However, Rehman appears to be a victim of a data breach.
This incident follows a similar controversy involving another influencer, Minahil Malik, who faced accusations of publicity stunts after a private video with her boyfriend surfaced online.
Rehman’s Response to the Backlash
Before deactivating her accounts, Rehman reportedly addressed the negativity in a statement, describing the experience as “overwhelming,” according to local media. A screenshot attributed to her TikTok account quotes her saying, “Jab tak video viral hai maine ID off kar di hai” (“Till the time the video is viral, I have deactivated my account”).
Screenshots from the video have been widely circulated on social media and turned into memes, further exacerbating the backlash.
Who is Imsha Rehman?
Born on October 7, 2002, in Lahore, Rehman is a well-known TikTok personality in Pakistan, recognized for her engaging and cheerful content. She maintains a presence on other social media platforms and has gained widespread popularity among younger audiences.
Similar Case: Minahil Malik
Rehman’s ordeal comes shortly after Minahil Malik, another social media influencer, faced a similar controversy in October. A video showing Malik in an intimate moment with her partner was leaked online, which she claimed was “fake.” Malik lodged a complaint with Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), but the incident sparked a wave of trolling.
Malik’s followers, much like Rehman’s, accused her of using the controversy for publicity. Pakistani actress Mishi Khan also weighed in on the matter, releasing a video criticizing influencers for “stooping to the lowest level” for fame, although she did not name Malik explicitly. Following the controversy, Malik reportedly quit Instagram.
