Imtiyaz Ahmed Khan Elected Unopposed as District President of JKPSA Kishtwar Unit

KISHTWAR, Jan 19 – Imtiyaz Ahmed Khan has been elected unopposed as the District President of the Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Secretary Association (JKPSA) unit in Kishtwar, following the association’s recent election process.

The election notification, issued on January 9, 2025, by the Provisional Body of JKPSA, set January 15 as the deadline for filing nominations. Khan was the sole candidate to submit his nomination, leading to his automatic selection as District President.

A felicitation ceremony was held in Kishtwar to mark Khan’s election. The event was attended by senior trade unionist Zahid Rashid, Panchayat Inspectors, and Block Presidents from JKPSA’s Kishtwar unit. Irshad Butt, the outgoing caretaker District President, presided over the proceedings.

In his address, Khan expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and pledged to work diligently to address the issues faced by JKPSA members. “I am humbled by this opportunity and assure the association of my commitment to resolve genuine issues and promote the welfare of our cadre,” Khan said.

The ceremony also recognized recently promoted Panchayat Inspectors, including Aijaz Butt, Subash Chander, Irshad Waza, Sheetal Sharma, and Mohd Abass, who were felicitated for their achievements.
