KISHTWAR March 13 – Jammu and Kashmir Police in Kishtwar have arrested an absconder who had been evading arrest for the past five years, officials said on Thursday.
Acting on specific intelligence, a police team led by SHO Kishtwar Inspector Firdous Ahmed, assisted by IC PP Drabshalla PSI Ankush Sharma and supervised by Dy.SP Headquarters Kishtwar Dr. Ishan Gupta, conducted a raid at a suspected location. The team apprehended the fugitive, identified as Kuljeet Kumar, also known as Bablo, a resident of Balgran, Tehsil Drabshalla.
The accused had been on the run since 2021 and was wanted in connection with a case registered against him.
Following the arrest, SSP Kishtwar Javaid Iqbal Mir issued a stern warning to fugitives, urging them to surrender at the nearest police station. He stated that strict legal action under Sections 82 and 83 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) would be taken against those who continue to evade law enforcement.
