Thathri, March 23 – A 52-year-old man suffered a traumatic leg amputation and multiple fractures in a tiller accident in the Bhalessa area of Doda district on Sunday, sources told The Chenab Times.

Noor Hussain, son of Mohd Ibrahim and a resident of Chilli Pingal in Bhalessa, was critically injured in the incident. “He received emergency treatment at the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Thathri before being referred to Government Medical College (GMC) Doda for advanced care”, a health official told The Chenab Times.

Details of the accident remain unclear, and authorities have yet to provide an official statement on the circumstances leading to the injury. Hussain’s condition was described as critical at the time of referral.

CHC Thathri, a key healthcare facility serving multiple tehsils in the region, has been under scrutiny for its limited capacity to handle severe trauma cases, with locals frequently calling for its upgrade to a Sub-District Hospital.
