Prominent Shia Cleric Allama Aga Syed Mohammad Baqir Al-Moosavi Al-Najfi (RA) Passes Away

SRINAGAR — Allama Aga Syed Mohammad Baqir Al-Moosavi Al-Najfi (RA), a prominent Shia cleric and scholar, passed away in the early hours of Friday at SMHS Hospital in Srinagar. He was a leading figure in the Shia community and a deeply respected spiritual leader.

His Namaz-e-Janazah (funeral prayer) will be offered today after Namaz-e-Jummah (Friday prayers) at his ancestral Asthan-e-Alia in Budgam, a town in central Kashmir.

Allama Aga Baqir (RA) was the senior-most member of the revered Aga family of Budgam, a family known for its long-standing religious and scholarly influence in the region. He held close familial ties with other notable religious figures, including Aga Syed Hassan Mosavi, Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, and Aga Syed Hadi Mosavi.

His passing has left a significant void in the community, as he was not only known for his vast religious knowledge but also for his unwavering service to the path of Ahlul Bayt (AS). His contributions to the spiritual and intellectual life of the region were highly regarded.

The Shia community and followers of his teachings are in mourning, reflecting on the legacy of a man who dedicated his life to the preservation and promotion of Islamic values and scholarship.
