Actor Rohit Basore, Associated with Family Man 3, Found Dead Near Guwahati Waterfalls

Guwahati, April 29 — Rohit Basore, an emerging actor who recently appeared in the third season of Amazon Prime Video’s acclaimed series The Family Man, was found dead on Sunday afternoon near the Garbhanga Waterfalls on the outskirts of Guwahati, Assam, police confirmed. He was 27.

According to Rani Police Outpost officials, Basore was on a picnic with nine colleagues when he reportedly fell into the waterfall at around 2 p.m. local time. Authorities were alerted to the incident at approximately 4 p.m., and personnel from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) recovered the body around 6:30 p.m.

Initial police investigations suggest accidental drowning as the cause of death, although a post-mortem examination has been ordered to confirm the findings. “No foul play is suspected at this stage,” a senior officer involved in the case told local media. However, Basore’s family has raised concerns and alleged possible foul play, urging a deeper probe into the circumstances surrounding his death.

Basore had recently shared images on social media from the set of Family Man 3, expressing his enthusiasm about working on the series and learning from the experience. He was seen posing alongside prominent actors Jaideep Ahlawat and Dalip Tahil.

The Family Man, a popular Indian spy thriller created by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K. (Raj & DK), stars Manoj Bajpayee as Srikant Tiwari, an intelligence officer balancing the demands of national duty with family responsibilities. The third season is currently in production following successful releases in 2019 and 2021.

Basore’s death has prompted an outpouring of condolences from fans and colleagues across the entertainment industry, with many calling for a thorough investigation into the incident.

The police stated that the case remains open pending the results of the autopsy and further inquiry.
