May 24 (The Chenab Times) – Social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, faced a widespread outage on Friday as thousands of users in the United States and India reported problems accessing the site and its mobile app.
More than 25,000 users in the U.S. and over 12,000 globally reported issues on Downdetector, a service that tracks website outages. Users attempting to load new content, previously known as tweets, were met with an error message reading: “Something went wrong. Try reloading.”
The disruption marks the second consecutive day the Elon Musk-owned platform has experienced technical difficulties. X has not yet issued an official statement addressing the outage.
The company has undergone significant structural changes since Musk acquired Twitter for $44 billion in October 2022. Shortly after the takeover, Musk cut approximately 80% of the platform’s workforce in a move to restructure the business.
Users across India also reported similar service disruptions, citing difficulties accessing timelines and loading new posts.
Further updates are expected as the company works to resolve the issue.
