Kishtwar, August 7 — Jammu and Kashmir Police, in a joint operation, recovered a cache of arms and ammunition from a suspected militant hideout in the Berighouth Dugadda area of Naidgam, located in the Chatroo region of Kishtwar district.
According to officials, the recovered items include one AK-47 rifle, one AK magazine, 13 PAK rounds, 17 Indian rounds, and one binocular. The recovery was made during a targeted search operation based on specific intelligence inputs.
As per information available with The Chenab Times, Naidgam and adjoining areas have witnessed over half a dozen encounters in the past year, in which three Pakistani militants were killed. Security officials believe that two to three groups of Pakistani militants remain active in the region.
Further search operations are underway.
