Jammu, Aug 24: The Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) has ordered the closure of all government and private schools across the Jammu Division on Monday, August 25, 2025, in view of the prevailing inclement weather conditions.
According to an official order accessed by The Chenab Times, the directive issued by Joint Director School Education Jammu, Mushtaq Ahmed, states that the decision has been taken keeping in mind the safety of students and staff. “All Government as well as Private schools in the Jammu Division shall remain closed tomorrow, i.e., 25.08.2025,” the order reads.
The order has been circulated to the Divisional Commissioner Jammu, all Deputy Commissioners of the Jammu Division, Chief Education Officers, and other concerned authorities for compliance. The Information Department has also been instructed to ensure wide publicity through print and electronic media.
Heavy rainfall has disrupted normal life across parts of Jammu and Kashmir since Saturday, prompting authorities to take precautionary measures.
