Doda, Aug 24: A new digital magazine is on its way from the newsroom of The Chenab Times, promising to bring stories from the Chenab Valley and beyond into sharper focus.
The announcement, made Sunday, marks another milestone for the platform founded by journalist Anzer Ayoob, who has steered The Chenab Times for years with a strong focus on local narratives.
The upcoming e-magazine—currently in the process of registration—will be multilingual, carrying content in English, Urdu, Kashmiri, Sarazi, and Bhaderwahi. Readers can expect a blend of cultural heritage features, stories of regional languages, and issues of wider national interest.
While a team of writers from the existing platform will contribute, Ayoob himself is set to oversee the editorial curation, design, and distribution. The magazine will be available on thechenabtimes.com, across social media platforms, and through other digital channels.
A waitlist for early readers has already been opened here. The initiative also invites suggestions from the public on the kind of content they would like to see.
Despite challenges in sustaining local journalism, The Chenab Times has carved a space for regional voices. With this new magazine, Ayoob envisions a wider platform for storytelling. “This is a space for our voices and more,” he noted.
