Thathri, August 29 — A landslide near the Bitumen Plant in Machipal area of Kishtwar district on Thathri-Gandoh National Highway injured three workers, all of whom have been shifted to medical facilities for treatment, authorities said.
According to details received by The Chenab Times, the incident occurred today, the second day of clear weather following heavy rainfall. A large boulder struck a container where the workers were present. The injured include Ajay Singh, 29, son of Mohan Lal from Rajouri, who sustained a head injury with multiple wounds, and Navneet Singh, 43, alias Sonu, son of Raman Deep Singh from Jammu, who suffered leg fractures. Both were transferred to GMC Doda for further treatment. Mohd Irfan, 40, son of Mohd Shafi from Cheera Tehsil Phagsoo, is currently receiving care at CHC Thathri and has been advised to seek additional treatment at GMC Doda.
The Chenab Times learned that all three were employees at the plant, with the incident highlighting ongoing risks despite improved weather conditions.
