Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin Condemns Gaza Crisis, Calls for Global Action

CHENNAI — Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin expressed profound shock over the unfolding crisis in Gaza on Thursday, urging India and the world to unite against what he described as genocide, according to details received by The Chenab Times.

In a post on X, Stalin, quoting an Al Jazeera report on the Israeli army applying “extreme pressure” as the Gaza death toll surpasses 65,000, stated: “Gaza is gasping, the world must not look away. I am shaken beyond words by what is unfolding in #Gaza. Every visual is gut wrenching. The cries of infants, the sight of starving children, the bombing of hospitals, and the declaration of genocide by the UN Commission of Inquiry together show the suffering that no human being should ever be subjected to.”

He emphasized: “When innocent lives are being crushed in this way, silence is not an option. Every conscience must rise. India must speak firmly, the world must unite, and we must all act to end this horror now,” adding hashtags #StopGazaGenocideNow and #Palestine.

The post follows a UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry report on September 16, 2025, concluding that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza, citing acts like killings, starvation, and destruction of healthcare and education systems, with intent to destroy Palestinians as a group. The report, led by Navi Pillay, urged states to punish perpetrators and end the violations.

Israel rejected the findings as “falsehoods” and unsubstantiated. The recent conflict, sparked after Hamas’s October 2023 attack killing 1,219 Israelis, mostly civilians, has led to over 65,000 Palestinian deaths, predominantly civilians, per Gaza’s health ministry, figures deemed reliable by the UN. Recent Israeli operations in Gaza City have intensified the humanitarian crisis, with famine in parts of the strip.
