Police in Rajasthan’s Banswara district arrested three suspects in a shooting incident targeting a young woman who refused a forced marriage proposal. The main accused remains at large after ordering the attack on December 2.
According to details received by The Chenab Times, the victim, Kainatab Khan from Khantwada, reported the event to Rajtalab police station. Around 7:08 pm, two men on a motorcycle arrived outside her residence and honked. As she approached the gate, the rider fired shots at her. She fled inside unharmed. Ten minutes earlier, Alfez Khan had called her, demanding she agree to marry him or face being shot dead. The incident followed immediately after the call.
NDTV Rajasthan reported that investigations used CCTV footage and mobile location data to identify and arrest three individuals: Rahil Khan alias Petrol Shooter from Pratapgarh, Mohammad Tahir alias Golu from Ratlam, and Sameer Khan from Banswara. Preliminary questioning revealed Alfez Khan orchestrated the attack due to her refusal of his marriage demands. He had pressured her repeatedly.
Station House Officer Devi Lal stated teams are conducting raids at possible hideouts to apprehend Alfez Khan. The case involves charges of attempted murder and criminal intimidation. No injuries occurred, and the victim received counseling from local authorities.
