Eleven Schools in Jalandhar Receive Hoax Bomb Threats

At least eleven schools in Jalandhar received bomb threat emails on Monday, leading to the immediate evacuation of students and staff. Authorities conducted thorough searches and confirmed no suspicious objects were found.

According to details received by The Chenab Times, threats were sent to principals’ email addresses at institutions including St Joseph’s Convent School, Sanskriti KMV School, IVY World School and Shiv Jyoti School. PTI reported that the emails warned of demolishing school buildings.

Police teams, bomb disposal squads and anti-sabotage units responded promptly. Schools declared early dispersal around noon, informing parents via messages about half-day schedules to avoid panic. The New Indian Express noted parents rushed to collect children after some schools cited repair work.

Jalandhar Police Commissioner Dhanpreet Kaur stated cyber cells are tracing the email origins. ACP North Sanjay Kumar confirmed investigations into the threats’ source. Searches yielded no explosives, indicating hoaxes.

The incident follows similar hoax threats to schools in Amritsar on December 12. Authorities advised vigilance across educational institutions.
