The Jammu and Kashmir government has declared winter vacations for all government degree colleges in the Union Territory effective from specified dates in December 2025 to February 2026. The schedule varies by division and zone to accommodate weather conditions.
According to details received by The Chenab Times, Government Order No. 497-JK(HE) of 2025, issued by the Higher Education Department on December 23, sets vacations for colleges in Kashmir division and Jammu division’s winter zone from December 24, 2025 to February 14, 2026.
Colleges in Jammu division’s summer zone will observe vacations from January 1, 2026 to February 10, 2026. The order, signed by Financial Commissioner Shantmanu IAS, applies to all such institutions in the interest of administration.
