The poster launch of the upcoming Punjabi film Taj Punjab was held at the Press Club in Chandigarh, Punjab, marking a key promotional milestone for the project centred on the historical and cultural legacy of the Kohinoor diamond and Punjab’s heritage.

The event drew significant attention from media houses across India, highlighting the rising interest in regional cinema that delves into themes of national history and identity.

According to details received by The Chenab Times, the press conference and poster unveiling were chaired by the film’s Director and Story Writer, Vir Sachin. Addressing the media, he spoke about the legendary Kohinoor diamond’s deep historical connection to Punjab and India, stating that the film aims to showcase this legacy and inspire younger generations to reconnect with their cultural roots.

Jaspreet Maan, Co-Director of the film, shared insights into the project’s vision and scope. He disclosed that principal shooting will take place across various locations in Punjab and the United Kingdom, allowing the production to capture a wider historical and cinematic perspective.

Beant Sandhu, the Screenplay Writer, elaborated on how the narrative is rooted in Punjab’s history, cultural identity, and the enduring legacy of the Kohinoor. He described the storyline as a powerful tribute that brings forward the region’s pride through an engaging depiction of its past.

The occasion was attended by key cast and crew members, including actor Jatinder Singh Billa and Production Manager Rashpal Singh, who joined the core creative team. Journalists in attendance responded enthusiastically, with the event widely regarded as a grand success that marks the beginning of an exciting phase for the film.

Taj Punjab is presented as a passionate effort by a group of young artists to honour Punjab’s history, heritage, and pride. The film focuses on narrating the story of the Kohinoor—one of India’s most iconic historical gems—bringing its cultural significance to the big screen.

The Kohinoor diamond holds a special place in Punjab’s royal history, particularly linked to Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s era, before it became part of the British Crown Jewels. Its story continues to evoke discussions on heritage, legacy, and cultural reclamation in India.

Held at the prominent Press Club Chandigarh—a regular venue for major media events in the region—the launch generated early positive buzz for the independent Punjabi production. The multi-location filming plan, including segments abroad, indicates an ambitious approach aimed at appealing to audiences in India and the Punjabi diaspora.
