Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Team’s Historic Ranji Win Lauded by Prime Minister Modi

Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh has expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his commendation of the Jammu and Kashmir cricket team following their historic Ranji Trophy victory. The Prime Minister acknowledged the team’s achievement in his monthly radio address, ‘Mann Ki Baat’.

Information was available with The Chenab Times that Dr Singh took to the social media platform X to thank the Prime Minister. “Thanks PM @narendramodi ji for complimenting the #JammuAndKashmir Cricket Team for the historic Ranji victory,” he posted. Dr Singh further stated, “Your words of encouragement will go a long way in boosting the morale of the youth and providing a fillip to the sports culture in this peripheral region.”

Prime Minister Modi, during his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ broadcast on Sunday, specifically lauded the Jammu and Kashmir team for securing their maiden Ranji Trophy title. This victory marks a significant milestone for cricket in the Union Territory.

The Prime Minister also made special mention of key players contributing to the team’s success. He highlighted the skipper, Paras Dogra, and the emerging pace bowler, Aaqib Nabi, who had an exceptional season. Nabi notably took 60 wickets throughout the Ranji Trophy campaign, a commendable performance that drew the Prime Minister’s attention.
