Jammu Sub-Inspector Dies After Collapsing on Duty in South Kashmir

SRINAGAR: A Sub-Inspector from Jammu lost his life after collapsing while on duty at the Battalion Headquarters Kehribal in the Mattan area of Anantnag district on Sunday.

The deceased officer has been identified as 58-year-old Ranjeet Singh, son of Awtar Singh, a resident of Kadyal, RS Pora, Jammu. He was serving with the police department.

Information was available with The Chenab Times that Singh suddenly fell unconscious in his room at the headquarters. Immediate efforts were made to provide him with medical assistance.

He was promptly evacuated to the Primary Health Centre (PHC) Mattan. Doctors at the PHC pronounced him dead upon arrival, citing that he was brought in lifeless.

Following the unfortunate incident, the body of Sub-Inspector Ranjeet Singh has been shifted to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Seer Hamdhan. Medico-legal formalities, including a post-mortem examination, are being completed to ascertain the exact cause of death.

The incident has sent a wave of sadness through the police ranks in the region, with colleagues expressing their shock and grief over the sudden demise of the officer while he was serving the public.
