Ladakh Administration Renames Kargil District Hospital After Late Minister Qamar Ali Akhoon

KARGIL: The District Hospital in Kargil, Ladakh, will be renamed in honour of the late Qamar Ali Akhoon, a former minister and prominent political and social figure in the region. The decision was announced by the Lieutenant Governor administration of the Union Territory of Ladakh.

The move by the Union Territory Administration of Ladakh recognizes the significant and sustained contributions of late Qamar Ali Akhoon to public service and politics. The proposal received due consideration following an examination of relevant records and recommendations, including communications from the General Administration Department.

According to details received by The Chenab Times, the Lieutenant Governor of UT Ladakh, Vinai Kumar Saxena, has directed that the District Hospital Kargil be named after late Qamar Ali Akhoon. Information was available with The Chenab Times that the decision was taken in recognition of the exceptional and enduring contributions of late Qamar Ali Akhoon to public service and politics.
