KARGIL: The District Hospital in Kargil, Ladakh, will be renamed in honour of the late Qamar Ali Akhoon, a former minister and prominent political and social figure in the region. The decision was announced by the Lieutenant Governor administration of the Union Territory of Ladakh.

According to details received by The Chenab Times, the Lieutenant Governor of UT Ladakh, Vinai Kumar Saxena, has directed that the District Hospital Kargil be named after late Qamar Ali Akhoon.
