LUCKNOW, Mar 29: Union Minister for Civil Aviation Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu virtually inaugurated the Udaan Yatri Cafe at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport (CCSIA) in Lucknow on Sunday. The cafe aims to provide passengers with affordable refreshment options.

The new facility is situated in the check-in hall of Terminal 3 and offers snacks and beverages starting at Rs 10. This initiative is in line with the government’s objective to enhance affordability within the civil aviation sector and supports the Udan (Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik) Programme.

According to details received by The Chenab Times, the Minister stated that the inauguration marks a significant step towards improving the daily travel experience for passengers. He emphasized that the cafe reflects a commitment to making air travel more inclusive and accessible, aligning with the aspirations of a developing India.

Minister Naidu further highlighted that by ensuring the availability of essential food and beverage items such as water, refreshments, snacks, and sweets at economical prices, the initiative addresses a fundamental passenger need. The government’s focus on affordability in air travel is a key aspect of its broader mission.

A spokesperson for CCSIA noted that the cafe has been established with the primary goal of making airport services more accessible and affordable for all travelers. The launch of the Udaan Yatri Cafe is expected to allow passengers to enjoy quality refreshments at prices that are consistent with the government’s strategy to promote inclusive air travel.

The Udan scheme, launched in 2016, aims to connect unserved and underserved airports across India, making air travel affordable for the common citizen. The introduction of facilities like the Udaan Yatri Cafe at major airports is part of a larger strategy to enhance passenger convenience and reduce the overall cost of air travel.

The Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport, managed by the Airports Authority of India, serves as a crucial aviation hub in Uttar Pradesh. The expansion of services and amenities, particularly those focused on affordability, is seen as a vital component in encouraging greater domestic air travel participation.

The ongoing efforts to improve airport infrastructure and passenger services at competitive prices are expected to contribute to the overall growth of the aviation sector in India. The Udaan Yatri Cafe is intended to be a model for similar facilities at other airports across the country, further extending the benefits of affordable refreshments to a wider passenger base.
