Ganderbal Police Launch Premier Football Tournament to Foster Youth Talent

Ganderbal police have organized a premier football tournament as part of their Civic Action Program, aiming to engage with the local youth and promote sporting activities in the district. The event, held at the Govt. Physical Education College Gadoora Stadium, commenced with an inaugural match highlighting the sporting spirit of the region’s young athletes.

Tournament Inauguration and Participation

The Police Premier Football Tournament was officially inaugurated by SSP Ganderbal Khalil Ahmad Poswal. The ceremony was attended by Principal Govt. Physical Education College, Gadoora Dr. Showkat Hussain, Dy.SP Hqr’s Ganderbal Umer Urfan, Dy.SP DAR DPL Ganderbal Altaf Khan, and other senior police officials.

A total of 16 teams from across Ganderbal district are competing in the tournament. This significant participation underscores the enthusiasm and competitive spirit among the youth in the region. The inaugural match featured a spirited contest between FC Manigam and Comrade FC, setting an energetic tone for the commencement of the event.

Speaking at the inauguration, SSP Ganderbal Khalil Ahmad Poswal emphasized the critical role of sports in cultivating discipline, teamwork, and a healthy lifestyle among young individuals. He stated that such initiatives are designed to strengthen the bond between the police and the public.
