Seven individuals sustained injuries on Tuesday when a passenger auto reportedly went off the road in the Chenani area of Udhampur district in Jammu and Kashmir. The accident occurred at Kallaser Morh.

Details of the Incident

The passenger auto, bearing registration number JK14G/2923, was involved in the accident that led to the injuries. According to officials, five of the injured passengers were subsequently referred to the Government Medical College (GMC) in Udhampur for advanced medical attention. The individuals requiring further treatment include a 16-year-old from Gharian Kallan, a 26-year-old from Nagulta, a 90-year-old resident of Kallaser, a 66-year-old from Kallaser, and a 35-year-old also from Kallaser. Information was available with The Chenab Times that these individuals required more comprehensive medical care.

Immediate Response and Treatment

Two other passengers, identified as Soni Devi, aged 17, and Shavli Devi, aged 19, reportedly suffered minor injuries. They received on-the-spot treatment and were not required to be admitted for further care. Police and local administrative teams were promptly dispatched to the scene of the accident to provide immediate assistance to those affected. The condition of the patients who were referred to GMC Udhampur has been reported as stable by medical authorities.

Local police have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident to determine its cause. The incident highlights ongoing concerns regarding road safety in the region.
