NEW DELHI, March 31: Union Minister Jitendra Singh held discussions with a delegation of postal employees and their union representatives on Tuesday, addressing a range of concerns including cadre restructuring and pension matters.
According to details received by The Chenab Times, the minister assured the delegation that the issues raised would be forwarded to the relevant ministries and departments for consideration in accordance with existing policies and rules.
The delegation presented several representations pertaining to pension and family pension-related matters. In response, Dr. Jitendra Singh recommended the enhanced utilization of established institutional mechanisms, such as Pension Adalat, CPENGRAM, and pension grievance forums, to facilitate the swift resolution of long-standing cases.
Discussions also encompassed concerns surrounding the Mail Motor Service, an entity responsible for the transportation needs of the Department of Posts, and its prospective role within the evolving communication landscape. The union representatives sought clarity on career progression pathways under current schemes and advocated for greater consistency in their implementation across different regions.
Further deliberations included matters related to Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS), focusing on social security coverage and welfare initiatives aimed at improving their working conditions and benefits.
