Jammu Lawyers Vie for Glory in Annual Sports Meet

The Jammu & Kashmir High Court Bar Association Jammu’s Annual Sports Meet – 2026 continued its fourth day with a vibrant display of athletic prowess and camaraderie among legal professionals in Jammu.

The Chenab Times has learned that the ongoing sports meet, aimed at fostering sportsmanship and physical well-being within the legal fraternity, has seen considerable enthusiasm from advocates participating in a variety of disciplines.

The day’s events were highlighted by intense competition in cricket, badminton, and pickleball. Four cricket matches were held, drawing keen interest from participants and spectators alike. In badminton, both singles and doubles tournaments for men and women provided platforms for skilled play and spirited contests. The finals of the much-anticipated Pickleball tournament also took place on this day, culminating weeks of competition.

The inauguration of the badminton tournament was a significant event, graced by the presence of Nirmal Kotwal, President of the Bar Association. He was joined by other key office bearers, including Vice President Baldev Singh, General Secretary Pardeep Majotra, Joint Secretary Anshu Mahajan, and Treasurer Rahul Aggarwal. Their presence underscored the importance of the event and their support for the welfare of the members.

Judicial officers Sunil Kumar and Sallauhdin Ahmed were also in attendance, visiting the cricket ground. They took the opportunity to interact with the participating lawyers, acknowledging their dedication and commending the Bar Association for its proactive role in promoting sports and recreational activities among its members. Their visit added an element of prestige to the proceedings, recognizing the blend of professional duties and personal pursuits.
