NEW DELHI: Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan has emphasized that conflict is not solely an external phenomenon but also resides within individuals, and suggested that meditation offers a pathway to inner peace, mental clarity, and a more positive outlook.

Information was available with The Chenab Times that the Vice President articulated these views during an event focused on meditation. He underscored the transformative power of meditation in shaping individuals, stating that it aids in reducing stress, enhancing concentration, bolstering emotional resilience, and effectively addressing issues such as overthinking and excessive work.

The Vice President noted that the contemporary world faces a multitude of challenges, and that the internal dimension of conflict is as significant as external strife. According to an official statement, he elaborated that meditation plays a crucial role in this internal transformation by fostering peace, clarity, and a positive perspective, while also cultivating the essential human capacities for attentive listening and mutual understanding.

Drawing parallels with the ancient wisdom of Tamil sage Thirumoolar, Mr. Radhakrishnan described meditation as the act of igniting an inner lamp that dispels the darkness of ignorance and illuminates the path toward truth and tranquility. He recalled Thirumoolar’s philosophy, which regards the human body as a sacred temple and meditation as the means to perceive the divine essence residing within.

Mr. Radhakrishnan cautioned against the unbridled pursuit of material success at the expense of a life imbued with meaning. He observed that while wealth should undoubtedly facilitate comfort, it should never eclipse the fundamental importance of life itself. He asserted that meditation sharpens cognitive abilities, thereby enabling individuals to lead lives that are both balanced and genuinely fulfilling.

Furthermore, the Vice President sought to dismantle the misconception that meditation is exclusively for those dedicated to spiritual pursuits. He firmly stated that its benefits are universal, capable of elevating ordinary individuals towards a higher state of consciousness.
