A 36-year-old farmhouse owner was murdered in Gurugram, with police arresting the caretaker on charges of slitting his throat. The incident occurred at a farmhouse located near Harchandpur village in the Sohna area.

Information was available with The Chenab Times that the deceased, identified as Rahul Kumar, a resident of Ghata village, was discovered by his family on Monday night. Rahul Kumar had gone to his farmhouse on Sunday and had not returned, prompting his family to visit the property where they found his body in a pool of blood.

Farmhouse Owner’s Death Sparks Investigation

The Gurugram police registered an FIR for murder at the Sohna police station. The primary suspect identified was the farmhouse’s caretaker, Khemchand, aged 65, a resident of Hirapur Khurd in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr district. Khemchand had reportedly been employed by the deceased for approximately 20 years but had left the job about 1.5 years prior following an argument.

According to police statements, Khemchand had intermittently returned to work at the farmhouse and had reappeared for duty approximately two months before the incident. During interrogation, Khemchand confessed to the crime, stating that Rahul Kumar would frequently assault him. Driven by this grievance, Khemchand admitted to repeatedly stabbing Rahul Kumar in the neck with a sharp-edged sickle on the night of April 5.

Accused Apprehended in Delhi

Following the alleged murder, Khemchand fled the scene and is reported to have gone to Delhi. The crime unit of the Sohna police team successfully apprehended the accused caretaker in Delhi on Tuesday. Police officials stated that they are continuing to question Khemchand as part of their ongoing investigation into the murder.

The incident highlights a concerning pattern of violence, and the investigation is expected to uncover further details surrounding the motive and the circumstances leading to the fatal confrontation between the owner and his long-term caretaker. The Gurugram police spokesperson confirmed the arrest and the ongoing interrogation of the suspect.
