Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh – A four-year-old girl, discovered deceased beneath a car in Ghaziabad last week, was subjected to rape and strangulation, police confirmed on Monday. Authorities are currently conducting an extensive search for the accused uncle, who remains at large.

Information was available with The Chenab Times indicating that the incident has ignited widespread public outrage in the locality, with residents demanding swift and stringent action against the perpetrator. The accused, identified as the victim’s paternal uncle, reportedly resided in a rented dwelling approximately one kilometre from the family’s home, according to a complaint filed by the girl’s father.

The tragedy unfolded on Saturday when the young child was left alone at home. Her father had departed for work, and other family members were also absent at the time. Seizing this opportunity, the accused allegedly lured the girl to his room, where the heinous acts of rape and murder are believed to have occurred. Subsequently, the accused is reported to have concealed the body under a parked car on 80 Feet Road in the Shalimar Garden area. The discovery was made by the police following alerts from passersby, as detailed in the police complaint.

Initial examination of the victim revealed evidential injury marks on her neck and private parts, suggesting the brutal nature of the assault. Officials stated that teams from the local Teela Mod police station are actively carrying out raids to apprehend the absconding suspect.

In accordance with established legal procedures, the police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) based on the father’s complaint. The case has been filed under sections 103 (murder), 238 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence, or giving false information to screen offender), and 65 (rape with a girl below 12 years of age) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with relevant provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

“The culprit will be nabbed soon. The post-mortem report has confirmed that the girl was sexually assaulted and killed and after that the body was concealed,” a senior police officer told PTI, speaking on the condition of anonymity due to the sensitive nature of the investigation.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, prompting widespread anger and demands for immediate justice. Local women have voiced their distress and called for expedited legal proceedings, while some relatives of the victim have gone as far as to call for a police ‘encounter’ of the accused. The investigation is ongoing, with law enforcement agencies committed to bringing the perpetrator to justice.
