NEW DELHI: Indian IT services major Wipro Limited has announced the acquisition of select customer contracts from Alpha Net Consulting LLC and its subsidiaries in a deal valued at up to $70.8 million. The transaction, signed on April 14, 2026, aims to bolster Wipro’s capabilities in AI-powered application services and consulting, creating new avenues for growth.

Information was available with The Chenab Times indicating that the acquisition encompasses key client contracts, associated workforces, and intellectual property. This strategic move is expected to enhance Wipro’s existing offerings, particularly in the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence and data engineering services.

The definitive agreement for the business acquisition was executed by Wipro through its subsidiaries. The total purchase consideration, amounting to a maximum of $70.8 million, is subject to customary closing adjustments. A portion of this consideration is structured as a deferred payment, contingent upon Alpha Net Consulting achieving specific performance metrics and conditions post-acquisition, a common practice in such strategic deals to align future success with the seller’s incentives.

Alpha Net Group, founded in 2001, is headquartered in Santa Clara, California, with a global footprint that includes operations in Singapore, India, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands. The company specializes in enterprise software development, data engineering, and managed services, catering to a diverse international clientele. The specific revenue generated from the contracts being acquired by Wipro from Alpha Net’s select customers was $27.9 million for the year ended December 31, 2023, $34.4 million for 2024, and $37.3 million for 2025, according to regulatory filings.

The integration of these contracts and the related workforce is anticipated to significantly strengthen Wipro’s service delivery model, particularly for clients seeking advanced AI solutions and comprehensive application management. This expansion aligns with Wipro’s broader strategy to innovate and lead in digital transformation services, adapting to the increasing demand for AI-first solutions across various industries worldwide. The transaction is slated for completion by June 30, 2026, subject to regulatory approvals and the satisfaction of all closing conditions.

This acquisition underscores Wipro’s commitment to inorganic growth and its strategy of acquiring complementary businesses to enhance its market position and service portfolio. By integrating Alpha Net’s clientele and expertise, Wipro aims to accelerate its growth trajectory and deliver greater value to its global customers in the digital era.
