The executive engineer of Power Distribution Kashmir issued a statement detailing the affected areas and timings.

According to details received by The Chenab Times, the 33 kV Bemina–Fatehkadal line and the 33 kV Bemina–Barbarshah line will undergo shutdowns on April 22, April 27, and April 30, 2026. These disruptions will occur between 8 am and 3 pm, impacting power supply to K.K. Moulla, Nowpora, Bohri Kadal, BB Shah, Badademb, Bishembarnagar, Gousia Hospital, Naisadak, Barbarshah, Exchange, Basant Bagh, Car Parking, Maisuma Bazar, and their surrounding localities.

In parallel, the 33 kV Beerwah–Arizal Tapline is scheduled for a shutdown on April 21 and April 23, 2026. During this period, which will last from 10 am to 3 pm, power supply will be affected in Arizal, Zanigam, Reyar, Doodhpathry, and adjacent areas. These works are part of ongoing efforts to maintain and enhance the electricity infrastructure in the region.

Further disruptions are anticipated due to the shutdown of the 33 kV Baghimehtab line, which is planned for April 20 and April 23, 2026. The power supply will be interrupted from 10 am to 4 pm, affecting residents and businesses in Baghimehtab, Kralpora, Mocha, Gopalpora, Kantabagh, and nearby areas. The KPDCL has stressed the importance of these maintenance activities for ensuring reliable power distribution in the long term.

Additionally, the 132/33 kV Grid Sub Station Kangan will be shut down on April 20, 2026, between 8:30 am and 4 pm. This will lead to power disruptions in Gund, Gadribal, Kullan, Gagangeer, Sonamarg, Fraw, Ganiwan, and surrounding areas. The extended duration of the shutdown at the Kangan grid station highlights the scope of the maintenance or upgrade work being undertaken.

Authorities have advised all consumers residing in the aforementioned affected areas to make necessary arrangements for essential services and personal needs during the specified shutdown periods. The KPDCL has urged for public cooperation during these essential maintenance operations aimed at improving the overall power distribution network across the Kashmir Valley.
