An advocate practicing at the Delhi High Court has died after allegedly jumping from the 14th floor of a hotel located in the Connaught Place area of the national capital. The incident occurred on Sunday morning.
The Chenab Times has learned that the deceased has been identified as Rajesh Singh, aged 26, who resided in Mahavir Enclave, Delhi. Police received a PCR call at approximately 9:15 am on Sunday regarding a suicide incident at Hotel The Royal Plaza.
Responding to the call, the Station House Officer of Connaught Place police station, along with local police personnel, promptly reached the hotel. Upon arrival, authorities found that Mr. Singh had checked into the hotel on Saturday evening around 6:30 pm. The following morning, he allegedly jumped from the fourteenth floor.
The crime scene was subsequently inspected by the Crime Team and the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) Team. Relevant exhibits were collected and seized as part of the investigation. Security camera footage from the hotel premises has also been retrieved and is currently under examination by the police.
The injured advocate was immediately transported to Lady Hardinge Medical College. However, medical professionals at the hospital declared him brought dead upon arrival. His body has been preserved in the mortuary pending a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
Initial statements from the family members of the deceased indicate that no foul play is suspected in the incident. Legal proceedings are being conducted in accordance with the relevant provisions of the law as the authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death.
