New Delhi: The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has ordered the transfer of Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Kamal Preet from Mizoram to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir with immediate effect. The officer belongs to the 1997 batch of the AGMUT cadre.
According to details received by The Chenab Times, Kamal Preet has been appointed to the position of Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (APCCF) in Jammu and Kashmir. This is a Level-15 position with a pay matrix ranging from Rs. 1,82,200 to Rs. 2,24,100.
An official order, bearing reference C.No.134335 and F.No. 46011/1/2019-IFS-I (AGMUT), mandated the officer to join her new post without any delay. She is also required to submit a joining report to the Ministry promptly.
Kamal Preet has a distinguished career with previous tenures in various significant roles across different regions of India. These include serving as Additional Director General at the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE) in Dehradun, where she oversaw education and recruitment boards. She also held the position of General Manager at the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Forest and Plantation Development Corporation Limited (ANIFPDCL) in Port Blair.
Her experience further encompasses roles as Deputy Conservator of Forests (DCF) within the Department of Environment and Forests in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and similarly in the Department of Forests and Wildlife in Delhi. Additionally, she served as Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) for the Department of Environment and Forest in Arunachal Pradesh, showcasing a broad spectrum of forest management and conservation expertise.
Prior to her induction into the Indian Forest Services, Kamal Preet pursued a Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) in Botany, providing a strong academic foundation for her extensive career in forest and environmental governance.
