The publication, compiled by the Directorate of Tourism Kashmir, features articles on prominent tourist destinations, major international events hosted by the department, and the participation of the tourism sector in leading travel marts and industry conventions.
The event was attended by several senior officials, including Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Dheeraj Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary Tourism Ashish Chandra Verma, Director Information Shreya Singhal, Director Tourism Kashmir Syed Qamar Sajjad, and Director Tourism Jammu Vikas Gupta. Their presence underscored the collaborative effort involved in promoting the region’s tourism offerings.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah commended the initiative, emphasizing the crucial role of such publications in elevating the promotion of Jammu and Kashmir’s tourism potential. He highlighted that these efforts are vital for enhancing the region’s visibility on a global scale, attracting a wider range of visitors and investors to the diverse attractions that Jammu and Kashmir has to offer throughout the year, particularly during the winter months.
The ‘Six Seasons’ magazine series aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the seasonal beauty and cultural richness of Jammu and Kashmir. Each edition is designed to capture the essence of the specific season it represents, offering readers insights into the unique experiences available to tourists. The ‘Shishur’ edition, in particular, is intended to counter perceptions of the region being inaccessible during winter and to promote winter sports and activities.
The Directorate of Tourism Kashmir, responsible for the compilation, has reportedly worked to ensure that the magazine provides valuable information for potential tourists, tour operators, and stakeholders in the tourism industry. The inclusion of details about international events and participation in global travel marts signifies a strategic approach to marketing Jammu and Kashmir as a premier tourist destination. This publication is part of a broader strategy to diversify tourism offerings and extend the tourist season.
Information was available with The Chenab Times indicating that the magazine includes visual documentation of the winter scenery, cultural events, and adventure tourism opportunities. The content is curated to appeal to both domestic and international audiences, providing an attractive and informative portrayal of the Union Territory. The initiative is expected to contribute to the ongoing efforts to boost the local economy through increased tourism.
