JAMMU: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has announced the results for the 12th Class Annual/Regular examinations for the Summer Zone areas of Jammu division. A total of 39,309 students, comprising 20,376 boys and 18,933 girls, appeared for the examinations. Of these, 35,299 students, including 18,117 boys and 17,182 girls, have successfully qualified, achieving an overall pass percentage of 89.79 percent.
Information was available with The Chenab Times indicating a significant improvement in the pass rate compared to the previous year, which stood at 75.95 percent. The performance of girls once again surpassed that of boys, with a pass percentage of 90.75 percent for girls and 88.91 percent for boys. The examinations were conducted across 336 centres in the Jammu Division, commencing on February 23, 2026. Government schools also demonstrated strong results, with a pass percentage of 87.82 percent.
Sakeena Itoo, the Minister for Education, Social Welfare, Health and Medical Education, congratulated the students on their remarkable performance. She stated that these results reflect a strong commitment to quality education and competitive achievement. The Minister attributed the improved outcomes to ongoing educational reforms, enhanced teaching methodologies, and strengthened student support systems implemented by the government. She noted the proactive efforts of the teaching community, whose dedication was crucial in ensuring the continuity of learning and achieving these results.
Minister Itoo encouraged students who did not qualify to remain determined and utilize upcoming opportunities, assuring them of continued institutional support. She emphasized that the results represent more than just statistics, serving as a testament to the hard work of students, educators, and families.
