Uttar Pradesh Board Exams: Girls Excel Over Boys in Class 10 and 12 Results; Sitapur and Barabanki Districts Dominate Merit Lists

Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has announced the results for the Class 10 and Class 12 examinations, with girls demonstrating superior performance over boys in both grades. The results, declared on April 20, 2024, showed a strong showing from students in Sitapur and Barabanki districts, who featured prominently on the merit lists. The examination was conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP).

Girls Outperform Boys in UP Board Exams

In the Class 10 examinations, girls achieved a pass percentage of 93.40%, significantly higher than the boys’ pass percentage of 86.05%. Overall, the pass percentage for Class 10 stood at 89.55%. Similarly, in the Class 12 examinations, girls recorded a pass percentage of 88.42%, while boys achieved 77.78%. The overall pass percentage for Class 12 was 82.60%. This trend of girls outperforming boys in board examinations has been observed consistently in previous years.

Toppers in Class 10 and 12

Prachi Nigam secured the top position in the Class 10 examinations, scoring 591 out of 600 marks. Deepika Sonkar followed, obtaining 590 marks. Navika Singh, Swati Singh, and Dipanshi Singh Sengar shared the third position with 588 marks each. In the Class 12 examinations, Shubham Verma from Sitapur emerged as the topper, achieving 489 out of 500 marks, an impressive 97.80%. Vishu Chaudhary, Kajal Singh, Raj Verma, Kashish Maurya, Charli Gupta, and Sujata Pandey secured the second position with 488 marks. The merit lists for both classes featured students from Sitapur and Barabanki districts, highlighting their academic strength.

Examination and Evaluation Process

The UP Board Class 10 and 12 examinations were conducted from February 22 to March 9, 2024. The evaluation of answer sheets commenced on March 16 and was completed by March 31. A total of 1,47,097 examiners were involved in the evaluation process across the state. The UPMSP also implemented policies such as granting up to 10 grace marks in one subject to assist students in passing, contributing to the overall pass percentages.

Result Availability

The results for both Class 10 and Class 12 were declared simultaneously on April 20, 2024, at 2:00 PM. Students can access their scorecards on the official websites of the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad, including upmsp.edu.in and upresults.nic.in. The results were also hosted on other platforms, including education.indianexpress.com and timesofindia.indiatimes.com, to facilitate easier access for students.
