Punjab: Minor Girl Found Unconscious Near Beas River, Admitted to Hospital

A young girl, estimated to be between 10 and 12 years old, was discovered in a distressed state near the banks of the Beas River in the Dhilwan area of Kapurthala district on Thursday evening. The child, whose identity remains unconfirmed, was promptly rescued by the Dhilwan police and transported to Civil Hospital Kapurthala, where she is presently receiving medical care.

Information was received by authorities indicating that a young girl was observed sitting beneath a bridge adjacent to the Beas River, appearing deeply troubled. In response to the alert, a police team from the Dhilwan police station swiftly proceeded to the location and successfully extricated the child from her vulnerable situation.

Officials reported that the girl was in a state of extreme fear and was unable to provide any personal details or information about her family. Considering her psychological and physical condition, the police facilitated immediate medical attention by admitting her to the Civil Hospital.

Station House Officer Dalwinder Singh stated that the child is currently traumatised and incapable of offering any coherent information. He further indicated that the police have initiated an investigation aimed at locating her family and establishing her identity.

A formal inquiry has been commenced, and further investigative steps are being pursued to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the child.
